Errors doom Cumby in playoff loss
MESQUITE — Cumby allowed six unearned runs in the second inning Saturday, leading to a 7-3 loss to Overton in the Class 1A, area baseball playoffs.
The series was reduced to a one game playoff due to a rainout Friday of a contest scheduled for Gilmer. The teams had to hustle to find a dry baseball diamond with the Mesquite Poteet field becoming available. The location was chosen due to the turf infield.
