WACO, Texas (AP) — Ross Hubbard hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to help Oklahoma rally for an 11-8 win over Baylor on Sunday and the sweep of a weekend series.
The Sooners (33-11, 11-7) became the first Big 12 team to sweep a three-game series in Waco since Oklahoma State did it in 1998. Baylor has lost six straight, including four conference games.
Hubbard's homer capped a six-run inning for Oklahoma, which trailed 8-3 after four. Aaron Baker hit two home runs, including a two-run shot in the seventh. Hubbard and Baker knocked in four runs apiece.
J.T. Wise and Jamie Johnson also homered for the Sooners.
Dustin Dickerson, Shaver Hansen, Aaron Miller and Dan Evatt homered for the Bears (25-17, 10-10).
Chase Anderson (1-1) took the win, giving up no runs on one hit in 4 1-3. He struck out five and walked two.
Shawn Tolleson (0-1) surrendered six runs, three earned, on eight hits. He struck out six and walked one during four innings' work for Baylor.
At game time, winds were blowing straight out to center and gusting to 33 mph. The combined nine home runs were two shy of the record at Baylor Ballpark.
