Sulphur Springs took an 18-1 home win over Hallsville Thursday in the final home district tennis match of the year.

Results include: Boys doubles- Zack Adams/ Roberts Stevens defeated Sommers/Skinner 6-0, 6-3; Garrett Swatsell/ Luke Penny beat Stilly/ Blankenship 7-6, (3) 6-4; Dakota Painter/ Dillon Smith whipped Jones/ Wiley 6-3, 6-2.

Girls doubles -Shelby Carter/ Jaymee Wilson defeated Lilly/ Wilson 6-1 7-5; Karen Mora/ Alejandra Lira downed Nelson/ Lightle 6-1, 6-1; Malory Martin/ Maddie Millsap blanked Soto/ Gonzalez 6-0, 6-2.

Mixed doubles -Kadi Moore/ Kade Koon won 6-0, 6-0 by default.

Boys singles -Robert Stevens drubbed Michael Stilly 6-1. 6-1; Luke Penny defeated Seth Somers 7-6. (2) 6-4; Zack Adams downed Thomas Skinner 6-1, 6-0; Dakota Painter edged Ben Jones 7-6, (3) 6-2; Garrett Swatsell spanked Austin Wiley 6-1, 6-0; and Dillon Smith defeated Cody Blankenship 6-2, 6-1.

Girls singles -Shelby Carter lost to Sarah Lilly 7-6, (5) 6-0 Jaymee Wilson defeated Briaini Wilson 6-2, 6-1; Karen Mora bounced MaLisa Soto 6-1, 6-2; Alejandra Lira beat Manisela Soto 6-1, 6-2; Kadi Moore rolled over Hedi Lightle 6-1, 6-1; Mallory Martin downed Andrea Gonzalez 7-6, (5) 6-0.

“The team finished district with a 3-3 record season record of 5-3. The overall match count for 13-4A. Sulphur Springs had 62 wins and 43 defeats. It was a great fall team tennis season for the Wildcats. The team is now getting ready for the spring season that will begin in January,” said SSHS head tennis coach James Lovett.
