EMORY — Farmersville quarterback Austin Brooks scored four touchdowns to lead the Farmersville Farmers (2-0, 4-3) to a 36-12 win over Emory Rains (0-2, 0-7).

Brooks returned an interception for a touchdown, threw for a touchdown, and ran for two touchdowns. Morgan Harbison was on the receiving end of Brook's 76-yard touchdown pass. He also scored the game's opening touchdown with a run of 42 yards.

Farmersville took an early 15-0 lead on Harbison's run followed by Brook's interception return. The score stood until midway through the second quarter when Rains put together a scoring drive.

Rains began their fourth possession of the game with a little razzle-dazzle when Casey Martin completed a 36-yard pass to Nate Carista on a flea-flicker play.         Then Trevor Vandeventer carried the football to the over the next two plays setting up his 14-yard touchdown pass to Nick Hancock. The point-after kick was blocked, which left Rains trailing 15-6 at the end of the first half.

Farmersville recovered a Rains fumble on the opening drive of the second half, which led to a 4-yard touchdown run by Brooks. Later, Brooks tossed to Harbison which gave Farmersville a 29-6 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Rains' final scoring drive began with just over a minute remaining in the game. Vandeventer completed a 17-yard pass to Cody Dickens that was followed by a 56-yard touchdown pass to Hancock. The try for 2 failed leaving the 36-12 score.

Rains had been celebrating homecoming all this week. Prior to Friday night's contest senior Bailey Moon was crowned 2009 Rains Homecoming Queen.

Next week the Wildcats travel to Quinlan to take on the Ford Panthers. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
