Lady Panthers win twice

NORTH HOPKINS — North Hopkins Lady Panthers (3-3) downed Greenville Phoenix in recent games.

On Friday, results were 25-11, 25-7, and 25-7. The Lady Panthers dominated with the scoring by Courtney Loper with 26 points served.

On Tuesday, North Hopkins repeated victory with finals of 25-10, 25-8, and 25-10. Loper agains ruled with 23 serves and two kills.

In addition, Lady Panthers Liz Shaw had 16 assists and 15 serves, Chrissy Hall had six serves and 12 kills, PK Harlin had 15 serves, Tana Hall had six serves, Brittany Whaley had two kills, Adrianna had eight digs and five serves.

North Hopkins will host  Sulphur Bluff for non-district action at 5 p.m. Friday.


SSMS teams post wins

The SSMS Lady Cat B team defeated Forest Park with 25-18, 23-25, and 15-1 results. Macy Johnston and Shakoja Debase were the high servers with each scoring 11.

Katlyn Maddox added six and Jasmine Walker had five points.

The SSMS Lady Cat A team also defeated Forest Park in three games. The SSMS team lost the first game 25-16 and won the two following games 25-14 and 15-10. Enlin Mantha led in serving points with 14, Jaleigh Avery had nine, and Kiara Johnson with four.

According to the coach, Kennedy Potts and Taja Evans played great defense with a combination of 14 passes. Hailey Chester led in spikes with seven.


No junior high C-P game today

Como-Pickton CISD has closed school due to illness, and will reopen Monday. This has altered the sporting event schedule. There will not be a JH game played tonight. The JV team will compete at Ron Heflin Field at 5:30 p.m., and the varsity will play at 7:30 p.m. in Winnsboro at Raider Stadium as originally set.
