Lady Bears get two home court wins

SULPHUR BLUFF — The Sulphur Bluff JH Lady Bear teams scored two wins over the visiting James Bowie teams on Monday.

Lady Bear team 1 came out with victories in match two with reThe success keeps their district record undefeated with four wins and 5-2 overall.

Leading the scoring was Cheyenne Bryant with 13 serves, Sara Williams had seven, ....Sharp had five, Maycee Potts with four, Kaci Powers had three, and Lyndsey Calhoun added one.

Team 2 resulted with finals of 25-13 and 25-21. They are undefeated in district and overall, 7-0, 4-0.

Serves were made by Shelbi Hurley with13, Maria Alverez with seven, Halie Wade had six, Judy Brown added five, and Shelby Williams had one.

The next JH action will be at Wolfe City on Oct. 5

Lady Bears lose match

SULPHUR BLUFF — The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears varsity team lost to James Bowie on Tuesday.

The varsity team pushed the Lady Pirates into five games but were unable to clear a win. The results for the games were: 25-21, 25-20, 22-25, 9-25, and 7-15.

Attacks were made by Ashley Bryant with 15, Karissa Wolf and Brittany Andrews each had four, and Ginger Thompson had one.

Leading with serves was Bryant and Thompson each with 13, Jamie Goldsmith and Andrews each six, and Wolf had five.

Bryant had 26 digs, Haley Lawson added 26 digs and five assists, Mikayla Potts-20, Becca Naylor-18 and two assists, Goldsmith-7, and Wolf-3. Blocks-Wolf-3, Bryant-1, and Andrews-1.

The Lady Bears varsity district record sits at 0-4.

The JV team won 25-21. The Sulphur Bluff JV is 6-2 overall, 1-2 district.

Serves came by the lead of Kaitlyn Hancock with 10 and three attacks, Virgina Rodreguez had six serves, Heather Anderson with five, Katlyn Brown with three, Quince Duncan and Kelsey Dorner each had two and Stephanie Hogue added one.

Duncan and Brown each made two attacks. Digs were made by Rodreguez with three, Anderson and Brown had two apiece, Hancock also had a block, Duncan also had two assists, and Dorner each had a  dig.

The Sulphur Bluff teams will travel to Wolfe City on Friday, Oct. 2, starting at 4:30 p.m.
