C-P cross country action is underway

ATLANTA — The Como-Pickton teams took to the fields and hills of Atlanta in recent cross country action.

"They both ran exceptionally well, and I was very proud of them for their first race this year. While we were waiting for the girls to start the pressure dropped, humidity disappeared, and the rain started. The girls were excited about running in the rain and they all 3 did well," reported C-P head cross country coach Virginia Green. "This course was an old Golf course with a hill that they referred to as Death Hill. Elizabeth (Ledesma) hurt her foot, but finished the course anyway. I was amazed."

C-P Eagle team ran the same course only it was longer--3.1 miles. "I had three young freshman who have never ran cross country before and performed really well. I had failed to tell them that they would be running three miles instead of two miles, but oh well they survived," Green admitted.
