The Sulphur Springs sub-varsity football teams play Thursday.

The ninth grade B team plays at Commerce at 5:30 p.m. The ninth grade A team plays at McKinney Boyd vs. Wichita Falls Rider at 5 p.m. The junior varsity plays at McKinney Boyd at 6:30 p.m. against Wichita Falls Rider.

The Sulphur Springs eighth grade will play Thursday at Whitehouse, three games beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The seventh grade scrimmages will be held Saturday.


The Sulphur Springs high school volleyball team continues in action under new head varsity coach Brandi Small.

The varsity girls lost to Princeton 10-25, 15-25, 13-15 and fell to Frisco 18-25, 19-25, 18-25.

In JV action the team beat Wills Point 25-19, 25-21.  Kyri Ivery served 12 points and had six kills, Jessica Horton served 10 points and had nine assists, Matti Perry had seven kills, Alex McGahee had 10 assists, and Hailey Hollingsworth had four kills. In Game 2 beat Greenville 25-17, 25-10.  Melinda Excobar served 13 points and had 2 kills, Kyri Ivery served 10 points and had three kills, Alex McGahee served eight points and had six assists, Hailey Hollingsworth had five kills and Jessica Horton added three assists.

JV Ladycats, coached by Eric Buck, are now 11-5 on the season.

The ninth grade and JV and play in the Wills Point Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.

The SS freshmen downed Wills Point 25-11, 25-6; then lost Greenville 25-18, 25-15. Their season record is 7-7. They are coached by David Carrillo.

All teams open district at Marshall on Friday.


The SSHS JV tennis team plays Thursday at Mount Pleasant at 3:45 p.m..
