SS athletes in Tiger Relays -- Tough field limits scores of Lady Cats, Wildcats

MOUNT PLEASANT — The Sulphur Springs track athletes got a strong workout Friday at the Tiger Relays held in Mount Pleasant.

The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats did not score well in varsity action. The junior varsity boys took third according to reports from track coaches.

In girls varsity competition, Cyndie Finney took sixth place in the triple jump with a leap of 32-7. Smith of Mount Pleasant won the event at 37-8. The 4x200 meter relay team had a time of 1:52.06.

Sulphur Springs got 32 points in varsity boys action.

Discus — 3. Colton Nash, 136-5.

Triple jump — 3. Bryant (Day Day) Jackson, 43-4.

3,200-meter run — 3. Ross Hicks, 10l17.32

1,600-meter run — 4. Hicks, 4.46.26.

1,600-meter relay — 6. 3:38.78, team of Irvin Anderson, Alvin Frazier, Triston Crook, Chris Sorley.

400-meter relay — 6. 43.75, team of Darrell Franklin, Lamarcus Kendricks, Ryan Young, Joey Davis.

800-meter relay — 5. 1.33.04, team of Keiston Clayton, Kendricks, Sharad Timmons, Davis.

In JV boys, the team got third place.

Long jump — 4. Tylan Harris;

Discus — 3. Tyler Halerumal, 120-9.

1,600-meter relay — 4. 3:46.94, team of Harris, Sawyer Sinclair, Jonathan Carlisle, Cody Clayton.

Triple jump — 3. George Green, 39-8.

110-meter hurdles — 6. Lee, 17.8.

3,200-meter run — 6. Tanner Bolton, 11:44.97.

100-meter run — 6. A.J. Johnson, 11.56.

400-meter relay — 3. 44.8, team of Krystad Ivery, Johnson, Kaylon Alexander.

800-meter relay — 3. 1:34.98, team of Ivery, Alexander, Johnson, Eric Simmons.

1,600-meter run — 1. Micah Hampton, 5:03.87.

The district meet will be held in Mount Pleasant April 15-16.
