Lady Eagles lose recent softball games

COMO — It just hasn’t been their week. The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles have suffered two district softball losses this week, first to Quitman in a make-up rain game Monday and then to Alba-Golden.
Today’s rainy weather is predicted to move out of the area and as of print, the C-P Lady Eagles will host Lone Oak tonight with the first pitch to be thrown out at 5:30 p.m. in a make-up game from Friday.
The Lady Eagles were blanked by the visiting Quitman Lady Bulldogettes Monday, 10-0.
The only scoring during the game came after a scoreless three innings. That’s when the blue streak happened. Quitman put a quick six runs on the board in the fourth inning followed by four more in the fifth.
Lady Eagle Megan McCoy pitched the entire five innings.     At bat twice for C-P was Maci Kight, Shelby Harrison, Kaci Harmon, McCoy, Marbellis Rasgado, Skye Brumley. Michaela Williams, Violet Perez, and Jessica Hendricks took the bat to the plate once during the game.
The Lady Eagles went to Alba-Golden Tuesday and stayed in competition with a 7-2 win. With McCoy belting a home run, with two at-bats and two total hits and two RBIs and teammate Rasgado added a second run for the Lady Eagles with twice at bat and one hit.
Getting hits in three at-bats were  Kight, Harrison, Harmon, Brumley, and Perez.
The Lady Eagles will play their fourth game this week on Friday at Cooper at 6:30 p.m.
