"In the early games we struggled to produce runs and put teams away. In both of our loses we carried a lead into the fourth inning but couldn’t hold on for a win. Walks and unforced errors were our downfall in these late innings, without these the outcomes for both games may have been different," said C-P head baseball coach Dustin Carr. "We eventually did start hitting the ball on Saturday. It was good to see most of the team making solid contact and taking good at-bats."
Some of the leaders statistically hitting were Ryan Carpenter five for 10, three RBIs, Jeff Hendricks five for nine, five runs scored, and Brodie Ogle six for nine.
"We had solid starting pitching outings from Cameron Bain on Friday with four solid early innings, and Zach Carpenter on Saturday with five innings and two earned runs. We also had solid relief from Seth Sturgill on Thursday," coach added.
