SS athletes compete Saturday in Justin Northwest track meet

JUSTIN — Athletes from Sulphur Springs took part Saturday in the Justin Northwest high school track meet with mixed results.
“We ran solid times against some very competitive 5A schools,” said SS track coach Matt Young. “Megan Massey broke six minutes in the mile, it is a good start for her sophomore season after breaking the school record as a freshman.”
In the varsity girls division, Sulphur Springs took fifth place with 54 points, the event was won by Lewisville with 187 points while Flower Mound was second with 155 and Central had 104 points. The girls junior varsity was fifth, 59.25 points. The division was won by Flower Mound's 143 points. Sulphur Springs had four points for eighth place.
In boys action, the varsity boys division was won by Lewisville which scored 181 points, Flower Mound had 97 for second and Central was third with 93 while Sulphur Springs was sixth with 49 points.
Sulphur Springs was fifth in the JV boys division with 54 points. The event was won by Lewisville with 187 points.

Girls 400-meter relay JV- fourth place, team of Christonia Beard, Diana Torres, Michelle Osornio, Mariah Kendricks with a time of 55.2
Girls 400-meter varsity relay - seventh place, the Sulphur Springs "A" team of Ashanti Ivery, Bradyn Burney, Ayana Taylor and Mia Taylor had a time of 53.1
Boys 400-meter JV relay- sixth place, team of Kryshad Ivery, Dadrian Smith, Cody Clayton and Tyler Higginbothan, in a time of 46.9.
Boys 400-meter varsity relay - eighth place, team of Darrell Franklin, Tyrik Rollison, Anthony Mills and Kaylan Anderson with a time of 44.9.
Boys 110-meter hurdles, JV, third place, 18.1, Seth Harris.
Boys 100-meter dash, JV, Krystad Ivery, second, 11.44.
Girls 800-meter relay, JV, fourth place, team of Michelle Osornio, Kayla Phillips, Chritonia Beard and Melinda Escobar, time of 2:01.8.
Girls 800-meter relay, varsity, fifth place, team of Trashona Green, Ayana Taylor, Bradyn Burney, Ashanti Ivery, time of 1:54.0.
Boys 800-meter relay, JV, third place, team of Dadrian Smith, Cody Clayton, Tylan Harris and Kryshad Ivery.
