The Sulphur Springs varsity took a 3-2 win over Garland in eight innings in the Mesquite tournament Friday.
Jake Dougan had a no-hitter through six innings. Mason Rawson pitched the final two innings to get the win. Colby Suggs had home run and Kolton Jones knocked in Grayson North with the winning run in the eighth frame. In Saturday action, the Wildcats beat Royse City, 7-3. Jones pitched a two-hitter to get the win, he also had two RBI as did Rawson.
In Saturday home action, the SS junior varsity took a pair of wins over the Wildcat freshmen.
In the first game Dallin Sant was the winning pitcher as the JV edged the ninth graders, 5-4. Top hitters for the winners were Taz Owsley, Lane Anderson and Kade Wimberly with RBI. For the freshmen, Blake Barnett had a double. Chris Ford, the losing pitcher, had one hit.
In the second game, Cody Carns took the win as the JV exploded for a 16-1 win. Justin Johnson had one single and a run batted in for the ninth grade.
The JV had 14 hits with Anderson, Carns, Jackson Massey, Colt Midgley and Nerho Bustillo driving in runs. Carns, Freddy Guante, Anderson, Wimberly and Dylan Dannheim had doubles.
