C-P softball girls win 10-0 in tournament
PITTSBURG – The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles softball team performed well over the weekend Pittsburg tournament.

“We played very well Thursday and Friday, winning two of three pool games and beating Rivercrest 10-0 in bracket play,” said C-P Lady Eagles head softball coach Sheila Askins. “Saturday, we played Central Heights and lost one to four. It was a tight game until the sixth inning, when we made a few errors and let them score a couple of runs. Our next game we battled the cold windy weather and Winnsboro for third place. The first few innings were dominated by defense on both sides, but then Winnsboro got a couple of hits and we made a few mistakes resulting in three to nine loss. Despite the losses, we are very proud of these young ladies and the improvement they have made in the last week.”
Como-Pickton students have no school on Monday, Mar. 9. The C-P Lady Eagles will travel to Grand Saline on Tuesday, Mar. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
