C-P Eagle track team excels in Grand Saline

GRAND SALINE — The Como-Pickton Eagle track team competed in the JV division along with varsity teams from 2A-4A schools Friday afternoon. C-P finished third overall behind Van and Canton.
Pole Vault: Fourth-Dustin Flowers, 10-6; Fifth-Hunter Cooksey, 10-6
Discus: Sixth-Robert Carden, 96-7.

High Jump: Third-Trevor Cagle, 5-4; Fifth-Seth Sturgill, 5-2.
3,200 meters: First-Hunter Cain, 11:29.
800 meters: First-Even Tellez, 2:14. 110 meter hurdles: Fifth-Chris Preciado, 21.2.
200-meters: Second-Trevor Cagle, 24.17.
1600 meters: Second-Hunter Cain, 5:16.
200-meter relay: Fifth-Even Tellez, Deon Robinson, Seth Sturgill, Trevor Cagle, 1:44.90.
400 meter relay: Second-Even Tellez, Seth Sturgill, Hunter Cain, Trevor Cagle, 3:57.
Pole Vault: First-Deanna Garrett, 10-6.
"The guys that went competed very well against tough competition. They have worked hard in practice and several had personal bests in the first meet of the year," said C-P Eagles head track coach Greg Roller. "The kids had fun and almost everyone we took came back with a medal."
