C-P Lady Eagles 4-1-1 in softball

COMO - The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles are 4-1-1 after recent action according to head coach Ashley Bailey.

    In Sulphur Springs tournament, the Lady Eagles rallied for a 7-1 deficit to edged Mineola, 8-7. Against Canton, Como-Pickton was down 4-2 when sophomore Erika Flowers hit grand slam to lead the team to a 9-4 win.
    The team also played in Rivercrest managing a 13-all tie in the game called due to darkness. Top hitters for Como-Pickton were Taylor Williams, Mekenzie Ingalls, Mikaela Jacks, Ashley Matthews, Charity Sims and Mikayla Stone.
    The squad took a 1-0 win over Mount Pleasant in the Sulphur Springs tournament. Williams had a key deffensive play to preserve the win.
    Como-Pickton took a win by a 8-6 win against Quinlan Ford in a game played in Como Tuesday.  Jacks was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts. Jacks also went 2-for-4 at the plate with two double and one RBI. Julia Mackey was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, driving in three. Flowers also had three RBIs, she had two doubles in a 3-for-3 effort.
    Como-Pickton will play at Campbell at 5 p.m. Feb. 25.
