BIRTHRIGHT — North Hopkins ended a successful district season Tuesday with a 61-48 win Tuesday over Honey Grove to take first place in the boys basketball race.

“We had an emotional Senior Night. We are graduating 12 tremendous seniors who are very close. They’ve done a lot for North Hopkins school and the community,” said Todd Law, North Hopkins boys head basketball coach.
“This team has really accomplished a great deal this season, but we are looking forward to bigger goals in the playoffs.” the coach said.
The win advanced North Hopkins to a perfect 12-0 in district, 25-7 overall.
The 25 wins and the district title were goals for the team set earlier in the year by Law, in his first year as head coach.
Law said the action against Honey Grove was a tough battle. The loss dropped Honey Grove to 9-3 and second place in district.
“In the game: Trenton Dodd knocked down five threes and was a force on offense. Silas Whaley played one of his best games of the season.  Our defensive effort was great tonight.  Kevin Meza, Tarence Berry, and Jessie Williams all turned in stellar defensive performances tonight,” Law said. “We've had a lot of fun this season, but we know we have more to accomplish.”
