Icy weather causes changes for teams

     A taste of wintry weather and a forecast for more icy conditions Tuesday changed the schedules for several schools in different sports.
    The Miller Grove Lady Hornets has their basketball playoff game originally set Tuesday postponed until today.

    The Lady Hornets will play Karnack at 6 p.m. today in the  basketball playoffs at Mount Pleasant High School according to coach Gary Billingsley.
    Sulphur Springs opted not to play their boys basketball game Tuesday.
    The Wildcats will play one game at Marshall today at 6 p.m. The game is the regular season District 14-4A finale, both teams have clinched playoff berths.
    Soccer action between Sulphur Springs and Bonham also was moved from Tuesday to Thursday. The Lady Cats host Bonham at 5:30 p.m. with the Wildcats vs. Bonham at 7:15 p.m. in a district doubleheader at Gerald Prim Stadium.
    Due to wet conditions at Coleman Park, the Sulphur Springs varsity 1A-2A/Junior Varsity softball tournament has been moved to the high school diamond.
    Thursday schedule includes: 9:30 a.m., Mineola vs. Como-Pickton; 11 a.m., Canton vs. Como-Pickton; 12:30 p.m., Mineola vs. Sulphur Springs (gold); 2 p.m., Lindale vs. Canton; 3:30 p.m., Lindale vs. Mineola; 5 p.m., Sulphur Springs (gold) vs. Sulphur Springs (blue).
    Friday games - 9:30 a.m., Mount Pleasant vs. Sulphur Springs (gold); 11 a.m., Cumby vs. Royse City; 12:30 p.m., Mount Pleasant vs. Royse City; 2 p.m., Cumby vs. Mount Pleasant.
    Saturday schedule - 9 a.m., Mineola vs. Sulphur Springs (blue); noon, Mount Pleasant vs. Como-Pickton; 1:30 p.m., Canton vs. Royse City; 3 p.m., Cumby vs. Lindale; 4:30 p.m., Lindale vs. Como-Pickton; 6 p.m., Cumby vs. Canton.
    Sulphur Springs golf, originally set for Monday, was  moved to Thursday at Mount Pleasant country club.
