The first step in the playoffs can be tricky, Sulphur Springs head girls basketball coach Jeff Chapman knows this very well.

Teams can run into a case of the nerves or just not play well. That’s all part of postseason play, when it is a win or go home sudden death situation.
“I know we can play well when everyone is contributing,” Chapman said. “I think we will play well.”
The Lady Cats, 22-5 are confident coming off a second place finish in district. The Sulphur Springs squad has won five of their last six games.
Sulphur Springs meets Lucas Lovejoy at 7 p.m. today in the Class 4A girls bi-district playoffs at Quinlan High School.
Lovejoy is 15-12, third place team from District 13-4A.
Sulphur Springs is a team featuring both size, speed and quickness.
The Lady Cats starting lineup includes a pair of inside players in Destiny Wade, 6-0 and Kasey Moore, 6-2. Chrissalynd Person is a 5-6 guard, Shakoja Debase is a 5-6 senior wing, while Desi Debase is a 5-4 junior point guard.
Desi Debase and Wade both average in double figures scoring. Debase scores 22 points per game and Wade 12.3 points a contest.
