The Wildcats and Lady Cats will be on the softball and baseball diamonds in scrimmage action Saturday.
The teams were unable to play recently due to cold conditions.

The Wildcats have been working out in the indoor facility and glad to get to play outdoors Saturday.
“Everyone will play and some in more than one position. No one will pitch more than two innings since this is the first time out. Ben Brooks, Garret Hood, Kade Hudgins, Hunter Elliott, and Parker Aguilar will see time on the mound more than likely.  We are wanting to see how we compete and the effort we are going to put forth,” said Jerrod Hammack, Sulphur Springs head baseball coach.
The Wildcats scrimmage in Terrell Saturday with the freshmen playing at 1 p.m. followed by the varsity at 3 p.m.
The coach added, “We want to try things out to see if they will be successful. For example, we really want to be aggressive on the bases this year since we have so much speed.  So we are going to be super-aggressive Saturday stealing bases and advancing two bases at every available opportunity.  We want to see where we stand, what we do well, and what we need to work on.”
The Lady Cats were scheduled to play in Frisco but the location might have to be changed due to poor field conditions.
Sulphur Springs will host varsity softball action Saturday.

Lady Cat head coach David Carrillo said the SSHS field was in good shape for  competition.
“We’d like to get the scrimmages in. The field at Frisco was too wet,” Carrillo said.
