TEXARKANA — The hometown Lady Tigers got off to a fast start and never looked back downing Sulphur Springs 75-57  Friday night.
The visiting Lady Cats were outscored 25-13 in the opening frame which set the tone for the game.

In the earlier meeting between the two schools in Sulphur Springs, the Texas High squad won by a lone point, 62-61,
Friday night the Wildcats had a scoring shortage, despite 30 points from Desi Debase. Destiny Wade stayed near her average with a double-double, pulling down 11 rebounds to go with 15 points.
“Destiny did a nice job, she played a good inside game,” said Jeff Chapman, Sulphur Springs head girls basketball coach. “Desi got 30 points and it was a tough 30. They sent two or three girls after her. She was bumped around. After that we did not get much scoring. We need at least four players in double figures. We struggled to score from the outside. We had a bad night shooting the ball. Some of it was the defense by Texas High. Texarkana is a tough place to play.”
The win moved Texas High to  9-0 in district. The Lady Cats fell to 21-5, 6-3 in district.
Texas High clinched the outright district title with the win over Sulphur Springs.
“Texas High played with a lot of emotion and effort. That is why they are undefeated in district,” Chapman said.
Chapman added, “Texas High is a much better team when they are at home. We played them  close in Sulphur Springs.”
The Lady Cats play at home Tuesday for a Senior Night game against Hallsville. Activities for seniors will be at 7:15 p.m.
Seniors to be honored are Wade, Shakoja Debase and Chaliyah Moore.
