Larry Pryor was all smiles Friday night as he confirmed the rumor that he has verbally pledged to play football for Texas A&M University.
Pryor, the 6-2, 200-pound junior defensive back/quarterback for the Wildcats seemed relieved the decision has been made.

“It came down to Texas and Texas A&M, but with Mack Brown and some of the other coaches leaving at Texas, I decided on  A&M, I think is the best place for me,” Pryor said.
Pryor made all-state as a sophomore at defensive back and played defense part time in the recent season, switching over to quarterback at Sulphur Springs.
“I will be playing safety at Texas A&M,” Pryor said with a grin. “I like that and look forward to going there.”
Pryor, a blue chip player, had gotten offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and other schools.
“I’ve taken all my visits and talked it over with my family,” Pryor said. “Texas A&M is where I will be going.”
Pryor said he hopes the verbal commitment will end numerous calls from other schools.
“It’s done, I am going to Texas A&M,” Pryor added.
