soccer action
    Sulphur Springs will be in the upcoming Pleasant Grove Tournament in Texarkana Friday through Saturday.
    The Wildcat open the tournament with a 10 a.m. Friday meeting against the host school, Pleasant Grove. At 4 p.m. Friday the Wildcats play Texas High. Saturday, the Sulphur Springs team will take on Atlanta at 1 p.m.

Yantis girls
post two wins
    The Yantis Lady Owls took two wins in recent district action.
    Yantis downed Miller Grove, 53-33 Tuesday night. Angelica Sandoval had 21 points, Josey Wetzel added 20, Lila Hurley scored 9 and Molly Bell added 3 points.
    In other recent district competition, Yantis defeated Fruitvale, 58-38. Sandoval had 26 points, Wetzel added 13; Hurley scored 10 and Destiny Garces scored 6 points.

    Lone Oak remained undefeated in boys district basketball witha 47-24 win over Como-Pickton Eagles Tuesday.
    Fernando Alonso was high point for the Eagles with 10; Malik Gray scored 8, Ozzy Preciado added 6 points.
Cumby girls drop games
    The Cumby Lady Trojans fell 50-44 in recent basketball action.
    Top scorers were: Madison Thomas 13, Kaylee Giles 12 and Grace Campbell 11 points.
    In other recent games, Bland edged Cumby, 41-34.
    Candice Horrocks scored 11 points for top honors.
    Trenton took a 51-30 win over the Lady Trojans. Campbell scored 9 for high point.
    Sam Rayburn downed Cumby, 69-38. Campbell had 12 in a losing cause.
    Celeste defeated the Lady Trojans by a 50-19 final. Ashley Purser had 10 points for Cumby in a losing cause.
    Boles clipped Cumby, 45-41 despite 17 points from Campbell and 11 scored by Horrocks.

    The Cumby Trojans fell behind early and could not recover, losing 49-38 to Wolfe City in recent boys varsity basketball competition.
    Noah Dyer scored 17 for top  honors for Cumby. Teammate Travis Taylor added 15 with Cody Anderson adding  6.
    Cumby will play at home against Blue Ridge Friday.
