Sulphur Springs head boys soccer coach Andy Holt hopes that the winning, is just beginning.
The Wildcats (2-4-4) are coming off a 1-0 victory at home over a spirited Royse City squad.

Now Sulphur Springs will be on the road in Texarkana, competing Friday and Saturday in the Pleasant Grove soccer tournament.
Sulphur Springs opens the tournament with a 10 a.m. Friday meeting against the host school, Pleasant Grove. At 4 p.m. Friday the Wildcats play Texas High. Saturday, the Sulphur Springs team will take on Atlanta at 1 p.m.
The Wildcats could play more games on Saturday, depending on outcome.
“We won the tournament last year and I will be going over there with the same mindset,” said Holt. “I haven’t heard much about Pleasant Grove, but from the past I know they will battle.”
Holt continued, “It sounds like Texas High is playing well right now. I don’t know much about Atlanta. Some other teams in the tournament are Whitehouse and Paris. It will be good to get to Paris play. They are doing well right now and it sounds like they are the team to beat in our district.”
The Wildcats will play Feb. 4 at Athens in the final non-district game of the year.
Sulphur Springs starts 19-4A soccer action at Greenville on Feb. 5. The first home district soccer game is Feb. 11 against Bonham. The game will be at 7:30 p.m., varsity only.
