Despite wet, slick and rainy conditions, soccer action was held at two tournaments with Sulphur Springs participating.
In girls soccer action at Mount Pleasant, the Lady Cats battled Texarkana Pleasant Grove to a 2-all tie Friday.

The Lady Cats had one goal in each half and Pleasant Grove scored twice in the second half for the tie.
Sulphur Springs got one goal each from Estrella Resendiz and Dalia Torres. Madison Ramirez and Esmerelda Sanchez each turned in an assist. Emily Hurley had five saves in goal.
The Wildcats played twice at Forney taking a tie and a win also in tournament action Friday.
“We tied Hallsville in the morning game 2-2. They jumped out to an early lead with rain and wind coming down on us,” said coach Andy Holt. “They scored both goals in the first half with the wind at their back. We came out in the second half with the wind at our back and Josue Roque scored to make it 2-1. He got in on a ball played by Daniel Santana and scored the one on one. The second goal came from a set kick taken by Ryan Watson from about  40 yards out. We played much better in the second half and got a much needed result.”
Holt said, “We won the second game 1-0 beating College Station. Samuel Gallegos got the lone goal which came in the second half. Samuel did a good job dribbling and creating for himself and he put the ball in the back of the net.  We got our first win of the year and will look to get another Saturday.”
The Wildcats played Saturday against a team to be determined.
