Saltillo JH
scores reported
The Saltillo Lions took two wins in three recent boys junior high games according to coach Jan Heijligers.
The team lost 49-31 to C.H.E.S.S.

Scorers for Saltillo were; Michael Simmons 19, Walker McGill 4, Nathan Valenzuela 4, Trevor Moore 4, Lyle Bench 1.
Concerning the loss, coach Heijligers said, “We came out with no intensity and were not ready to play. It showed throught the game. C.H.E.S.S. outplayed us and outworked us in every aspect. They did a great job offensive rebounding and finishing their opportunities.”
Saltillo took on North Hopkins and won by a 49-24 final in A team action.
Scoring for Saltillo were: Simmons 27, Bench 8, Branson McGill 5, Walker McGill 5, Valenzuela 2, Jabe Humphries 2.
In B team play, Saltillo won 51-11 over North Hopkins.
Saltillo scores were: Matthew Gurley 18, Seth Patriquin 14, Ben Moore 13, Canyon Davis 4, Antonio Tovar 2.
"We did a good job forcing turnovers against North Hopkins. We were getting our hands in the passing lanes and staying aggressive.  I was proud of the job the boys did boxing out and not allowing them to get second chance points. Overall we did a good job hustling defensively and being aggressive despite not having our best night offensively." said Heijligers.
