Wildcats play in Bridgeport Tournament

    The Sulphur Springs Wildcats have already made huge strides in their basketball program.
    Posting a 6-6 mark through a dozen games in a big improvement over recent years.

    The Wildcats are rounding into shape to be a very competitive team.
    Sulphur Springs had recent home wins over Paris and Lindale. Each team presenting different problems and challenges for the squad that they were able to handle.
    The Wildcats are participating in the Bridgeport Christmas Tournament, Friday and Saturday.
    The Wildcats play at noon Friday against Flower Mound in the auxiliary gym.
    Other teams in the tournament include: Lindsay, Iowa Park, Alvord, Big Springs, Fort Worth SW Christian, Chisolm Trail, Graham, Wichita Falls, Fort Worth Western Hill, Mineral Wells, Crandall, Fort Worth Riders, Saginaw and the host school Bridgeport.
    The Jaguars of Flower Mound are 13-4. They are a member of 5A, Region I, District 5.
    Flower Mound is averaging 64 points a game, allowing 54 per contest.
    The Jaguars fell 69-46 to Dallas Roosevelt in their last outing.
    The Flower Mound roster shows seven players 6-2 or taller. The tallest is 6-6 senior forward Matt Nejtek.
    The Wildcats competed well against taller teams recently being able to handle squads with their quickness and athletic ability. Sulphur Springs features five players 6-0 or taller.
