WILLS POINT — The Tigers took a 71-67 overtime win over Sulphur Springs in Tuesday competition in boys varsity basketball action.
Jaylon Dugan had 23 points in a losing cause. Teammate Larry Pryor added 15 for the Wildcats.

“We got outscored 11-7 in overtime. We had a couple of things go against us. Wills Point is good, they are usually first or second in their district,” said Jeremy Josey, Sulphur Springs head boys basketball coach.
The loss was the second overtime defeat for the Wildcats out of three games played this year.
“Late in regulation Wills Point was up by five and we responded well and took the lead,” Josey said. “We had the ball and a two-point lead and did not make good decisions. Wills Point got the ball back and made two free throws to force overtime.”
Josey said, “This team is still young and inexperienced. We are learning and we need to learn to win. But it will come, we have talent. We need to get a few practices together.”
The team is made up of players just coming over from football who have not worked out together much with the basketball squad.
The Wildcats play Tuesday at North Lamar.
