Lady Cats pound Clarksville, 55-29

CLARKSVILLE — The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats  went on a 28-10 scoring outburst in the second half as they downed Clarksville, 55-29 here Friday night.
    Six different Lady Cats scored paced by Desi Debase’s 25 points.  Nine of her points came on three-of-five shooting from 3-point land.

    Destiny Wade turned in her first double-double for the year as she poured in 15 points and pulled down 10 boards. Wade shot 50 percent on the night. Her rebounds were evenly divided with five coming on defensive boards and the same amount on the offensive glass.
    Sulphur Springs had 22 total rebounds in the game.
    The Lady Cats sparked their offense with 22 steals and 36 deflections.
    Shakoja Debase had six steals and three points.
    Daisysha Pruitt added five points and five deflections. Kasey Moore had one point and three rebounds. Lexi Moore had six points and eight deflections.
    “We made adjustments at the half and played better in the third and fourth quarters. Clarksville was very fast, aggressive and physical,” said Jeff Chapman, Sulphur Springs head girls basketball coach. “The game was physical and Clarksville had a loud crowd.”
    Chapman said, “It did us good to play at team like this. It was a challenge. We got all our players in the game and several scored.”
    Sulphur Springs, 2-0, will host Lindale on Tuesday. Action will begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by the junior varsity at 5:30 and varsity at 7:30 p.m.
