The Lady Hornets take their team approach into regional  quarterfinal volleyball action.
Miller Grove (28-5) faces Big Sandy at 7 p.m. today in Grand Saline.

Miller Grove advanced to the game by scoring a 3-1 win over Roxton.
In that match, the Lady Hornets lost the first set 23-25 as they battled the nerves. They put their game together, and won the next three games.
The secret, if you can call it a secret, to Miller Grove’s success is team play. Plain and simple.
“When the girls bought into our team approach we got better. When they stopped caring about who got the credit as long as we won the game, then good things started happening,” said Gary Billingsley, head volleyball coach.
“Big Sandy has to huge middles (Sarah Shipman and Suhmer Mitchell).  They do a good job of controlling the net.  We have to be smart about our sets and not try to hit the ball through them,” Billingsley said, “This game is between two totally different teams.  They are going to swing at everything and we tend to play more strategic.”
The coach added, “I think which ever team is more effective at their game will be the team that makes it to Longview for the regional tournament.  If we play nervous tonight we will get embarrassed. Big Sandy is not a team that you can just give points to.  We have a game plan and I am confident that the girls will come out and play hard.”
