Lady Panthers
down Sulphur Bluff, 53-20
    BIRTHRIGHT — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers evened their season record at 1-1 after streaking to a 53-20 win Friday night at home over Sulphur Bluff.

    The Lady Panthers raced to a 19-6 first quarter advantage and never looked back. Baile Gammill hit two three point shots and Kelsey Buchanan hit the first of her two treys in the opening minutes. Gammill and Buchanan would end the night with a team high of 10 points each. As a team the Lady Panthers exploded for six treys in 10 attempts.
    "We played much better than we did in our loss to Fruitvale Monday. We only made 19 percent of our shots and hit no threes," Coach Larry Tucker said."We hit 60 percent on our three's tonight and 40 percent from the field. We only had 13 turnovers too."
     Other scoring for North Hopkins was Allegra Thomas with 8, Miranda Rushin 6, Chelsey Crouch and Brittney Flanagan 5 apiece, Samantha Freeman 4 and Denise Calixto 3.
    For Sulphur Bluff, Mae Krantz and Kaydee Anderson each had 5 points, followed by Kendra Jock with 4, and Judy Brown, Katelyn McDonald and Megan Caberly with 2 each.
    North Hopkins is scheduled to go to Roxton Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
    They will compete at the Hopkins County Hardwood Classic in Saltillo beginning Thursday morning with facing host Saltillo at 8 a.m.
