Sulphur Springs is coming off a 56-28 win over Pine Tree in Friday road football action.

The win in Longview turned into a very important victory, it clinched a playoff berth for the Wildcats.
“I thought for the most part we played well. We could be better in areas, and are working towards that but overall we played well,” said Triston Abron, Wildcats defensive coordinator. “If we want to be successful this Friday night, and in the post season we have to do a better job of tackling. I thought the defensive ends played an outstanding game. We are doing some really good things with our defensive scheme, only because the kids have began to understand more of the scheme rather than just there position. By this happening we are able to be more creative in terms of game planning.”
Garret Hood, defensive end for the Wildcats, topped the team with 11 total tackles. He had three sacks for 28 yards in losses. He also had another tackle for a loss and two quarterback hurries.
Dekeistan Mosley had nine tackles, three for losses and two caused fumbles from his linebacker position.
Jaylon Dugan had eight tackles, two passes defensed. Melroy Givens had seven tackles, one for a loss, one pass defensed. Cain Cody had seven  tackles, one for a loss and one pass defensed. Dedric Smith also had seven tackles.
