SSMS girls win district volleyball

The Sulphur Springs middle school teams won titles in district volleyball.

The eighth grade blue team won 25-9 and 25-18 in recent district play taking first place. In that win over Mount Pleasant - Hannah Dixon and Brooke Williams had 5 points each, Imani Taylor, 4 points, Anden Hammack, 4 points, 13 assists; Kaylee Jefferson, 12 assist and led at net with 4 kills, 1 block; Meike Van Betham had 4 kills; Mace Hollins, 3 points and 3 kills; Karlee Adams, 3 points and 3 kills; Taylor Robinson, 1 kill; Alyssa Abron led in defense with 9 passes and 3 digs. Team members are  Karlee Adams, Mace Hollins, Hannah Dixon, Alyssa Abron, Imani Taylor and Taylor Robinson;   coach Robbie Horton, Meike Van Benthem, Anden Hammack, Brooke Williams and Kaylee Jefferson.

The Sulphur Springs eighth grade white team defeated Mount Pleasant 25-7, 25-12 to win the district volleyball title. Standouts were: Kate Potts led with 8 points, Makenna Kager 7, Nysa Dugan led in defense with 8 passes, Raleigh Potts had 4 kills. Team members are Allie Avery, Kate Potts, Gracie Boyer, Nsya Dugan, Laila King, Cameron Slaughter, Peyton Dietze and Desmine Collins;  Jo McMillian, coach Mary Watson, Makenna Kager, Tahja Gilbert, Annie Sapaugh, Raleigh Potts, Maggie McGlamery, Jamia Hall and Jacie McKinney.
