Despite losing to Hallsville Friday, the Lady Cats still have a chance at postseason play.
The Lady Cats lost 17-25, 19-25, 15-25 at home against district leader Hallsville.
“Hallsville is a strong competitive team with great ball control, and it is difficult to put a ball down against them,” said Michelle Namanny, Lady Cats head coach.
Statistics show Shakoja Debase had 8 assists and Katie Barnett and Jacey Mitchell added 4 assists a piece. Kiara Johnson had 3 block assists, and McKenzie Sorley had 2 solo blocks and 1 block assist. Sarah Womack had 4 kills and 1 block assist. Jessye Castro had 3 solo blocks and 4 block assists. Destiny Wade had 6 kills, 1 solo block, and 1 block assist. Desi Debase had 3 kills, 2 solo blocks, and 3 blocks. Kennedy Potts had a season high of 16 digs in Friday night's match.
Namanny said, “Luckily, due to the outcome of the Texas High and Mount Pleasant match, we still have the opportunity to take fourth place and advance to playoffs as long as we win at Mount Pleasant Tuesday night. So we are all very excited about that opportunity.”
The Lady Cats overall record is 15-20, they are 2-7 in district.
