From Staff Reports
Runners from Sulphur Bluff did well in recent District 18A cross county action held at Lake Bob Sandlin.
Sulphur Bluff won first place in the boys junior high division.

Jacob Watts had a time of 11:16 for first place. Other individuals were:  2. Alberto Serrano, 11:20; 5. Brennon Seymore, 11:57; 7. Isaac Foley, 12:24; 8. Turner South, 12:49.
“They have competed really well all year and have worked really hard to improve their times with every meet,” said coach Marshall Moore. “I am happy for the boys to finish the season with a first place trophy and I am anxious to get them into high school and compete on the varsity level next year. “
In high school boys action, times for Sulphur Bluff include: 9. Thomas Coberley, 21:26; 17. Joe Granack, 25:18; 18. Luke Anderson, 25:32; 19. Hudson Northcutt, 25:59; 20. Dillon Huie, 27:11.
Moore said, “The high school boys took second and qualified for the regional meet on Nov. 2 in Humble.  For four of the five runners  it is their first cross country season.  Thomas Coberley is the only runner out of the five to have previous back ground in 5K running up until this year.  I am proud of the boys for putting in the hard work to improve week to week. They have improved big time from the start of the season to this point now.  With their hard work they will be rewarded in going to the regional meet and getting to experience something that  they thought would not have happened this year. I think that they will come away with something to build on for next year.”
