Lady Cats fall to TH, 3-1

TEXARKANA — The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats lost 13-25, 25-23, 23-25, 18-25 to Texas High down the road from Grim Park where the football team took it on the chin.
    “We came out strong, but were unable to finish plays at key moments in the game,” said Michelle Namanny, Sulphur Springs head volleyball coach.

     Setter Shakoja Debase finished the match with 18 assists. Jacey Mitchell put up 6 assists and two digs. Kiara Johnson had a season high of 7 kills, 1 solo block and 2 block assists. Sarah Womack had 5 kills, 1 solo block and 1 block assist. Jessye Castro had 6 kills, 2 solo blocks, and 4 block assists. Destiny Wade had 7 kills and 3 block assists. Desi Debase had 9 kills and 2 digs. Kennedy Potts and Dillie Collins had 7 and 5 digs respectively.  
    In sub-varsity action - Sulphur Springs won the JV match 21-25, 25-20, 25-22. The Lady Cat freshmen were victorious, 25-14, 21-25, 25-13.
    All three teams take the court again at home Tuesday night against Marshall, also Senior Night, where eight seniors will be recognized.
     The match starts at 6:30 with Senior Night taking place before the match.
