Sulphur Springs has waited 15 years for a chance to win at Texarkana.
The Wildcats hope tonight is the night they made the long drive home with a smile on their face.
Sulphur Springs and Texas High clash tonight in a district showdown set for 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium at Grim Park.
The natural grass field will be full of action tonight as the Wildcats pit their No. 1 offense against the No. 1 defense in district field by Texas High.
Texas High leads the district with a 5-1 record, the only loss of the year coming 38-37 to 5A Tyler Lee in Texarkana. The Tigers won 45-15 over Pine Tree in their district opener.
The Tigers are allowing a district low of 190.8 yards per game.
Sulphur Springs on the other team is the district leader in offense. The Wildcats are averaging 480 yards and 43 points a game. During their current three game winning streak, the Wildcats are averaging 61 points per contest.
While Texas High has the top defense in the district, Sulphur Springs is ranked No. 4. The Wildcats are allowing 399 yards and 38 points per game.
Texas High is last in the district in total offense at 275 yards per game.

Pryor is the No. 3 quarterback in 14-4A. He has completed 98-of-153 for 1,330 yards, 10 touchdowns, three interceptions. Texas High signal-caller Dakota Hunter is No. 6 in the district. He has completed 65-of-88 passes for 767 yards.
Top receivers for Sulphur Springs include Alex Burney with 25 catches for 338 yards, four scores and Isaiah Lacy with 22 receptions fo 358 yards and three touchdowns.
