Lady Cats host PT tonight

    The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will be going after an important district volleyball win tonight when they host Pine Tree.

    The action begins with freshmen at 4:30 p.m. followed by the junior varsity with the varsity to play at approximately 6:30 p.m.
    “The girls are very excited and pumped up about our game tonight.  The MP win Friday was huge for us and the girls are ready to get out and compete again tonight.  I thought we did well against Pine Tree the first time, and should have competed better against them. Tonight's match should be very competitive,” said  Michelle Namanny, Sulphur Springs head volleyball coach.
    Sulphur Springs is 2-3 in district tied with three other teams for third place in the district.
   Pine Tree is 4-1 in 14-4A action, second only to Hallsville’s 5-0 mark.
    The Lady Cats (13-16) lost in Longview 25-17, 25-23, 25-13 in their first meeting with Pine Tree.
    Pine Tree (21-12) features some of the top players in the district. Sky Holmes has 298 kills, 102 blocks and 70 service aces. Kabreshia Orange has 195 kills, Kerri Johnson has 161 kills.

    Sulphur Springs won 3-1 over Mount Pleasant Friday. Desi Debase had 10 kills, 8 digs.
