SSMS girls
defeat Hallsville
    The Sulphur Springs Middle School blue and white teams won over Hallsville in recent volleyball action.

    The white team won over Hallsville B team, 25-15, 25-19. Anna Sapaugh and Kate Potts had seven points each; Destiny Collins added five points. Maggie McGlamery turned in eight assists; Nsya Dougan had 10 good passes and Raleigh Potts contributed four kills.
    Sulphur Springs won the A team game, 25-23, 26-24. Karlie Adams and Anden Hammack had six service points each. Alyssa Abron added three points and 12 good passes. Hammack added 23 assists, three kills; Kaylee Jefferson turned in 22 assists, seven kills. Mace Hollins had four kills, Mejia VanBenthem added two kills.
    The blue team is 4-1 in district according to coach Robbie Horton.

C-P sub-varsity
teams split
games at A-G
    ALBA — The Como-Pickton junior high Eagles played Thursday splitting two sub-varsity games.
    The seventh grade squad lost 18-6.
    The eighth grade Eagles won 34-6.
    Juan Monterro scored four touchdowns and had one two-point conversion. Colton Clark had a two-point conversion pass to Matthew Pegues. Clark also had a touchdown pass to Stone Richardson.
    Standouts were: Brayden Densmore and Clark on special teams.
    Last week, the seventh graders lost 8-0 to Cooper and the eighth grade team was defeated, 30-26 according to coach Robert Snyder.
