The Sulphur Bluff cross country team competed recently in the Titus County Fair run in Mount Pleasant and ran really well.
This race was the biggest race the boys have even competed in by far. The junior varsity race had 191 runners and the junior high race had 171 runners.
The JV runners were Thomas Coberley who finished 40th overall with a time of 20:06, Luke Anderson who finished 109th place with a time of 22:56 and Hudson Northcutt finished 128th with a time of 23:32. The junior high boys division which had 171 runners saw two runners finish in the top 10 and one in the top 20 and another in the top half of the race.
Coming across the finish line first for the JH was Jacob Watts finishing fourth place with a time of 12:25; Alberto Serrano, sixth, 12:36; Brennon Seymore, 18th, 13:31 and Turner South, 65th, 14:53.
This week the Bears were third the Pepsi Challenge at Lake Bob Sandlin.
The Sulphur Bluff junior high team finished third behind two large schools, Mount Pleasant and Chapel Hill.
Watts was fifth, 11:35; Serrano, took fifth, 11:50; Seymore, finished 16th, 12:39; Isaac Foley, 23rd, 13:02 and Turner finishing 34th overall, 13:44 .
In JV action, Coberley finished 11th overall, 22:50; Anderson took 22nd overall with 25 minutes and Joe Granack finished 24th overall. 25:41 and Dillon Huie finished 47th overall with a time of 33 minutes.
