SSMS girls
split games
with Texarkana
    The Sulphur Springs Middle School volleyball teams split Monday against Texas Middle School of Texarkana.  
    The SSMS white team lost  20-25, 25-12, 15-25.


    The Lady Cat blue team defeated TMS team 25-18 and 25-6.
    Anden Hammack led the Sulphur Springs squad in points with 10, 13 assists, 3 kills; Imani Taylor, 9 points, 7  passes, 1 kill; Karlee Adams, 6 points, 1 kill; Kaylee Jefferson, 3 points, 18 assists, 4 kills; Meike VanBentham, 5 kills; Taylor Robinson, 3 points.
    Lady Cats travel to Hallsville on Monday. The record for the blue team is 4-2, according to coach Robbie Horton.

MG beats Cumby varsity
    MILLER GROVE — In  a key recemt district girls volleyball battle the Lady Trojans of Cumby fell 25-19, 25-9, 16-25, 25-14 at Miller Grove.
     Statistics for Cumby for the varsity game  show standouts were: Madison Thomas - 15 points, 9 digs; Candice Horrocks - 8 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 6 assists, 1 block; Ashley Purser - 4 points, 8 digs; Alex Duck- 3 points, 6 kills, 2 blocks, 1 dig; Demi McDonald - 3 points, 1 kill, 5 assists; Grace Campbell - 3 points, 1 kill, 6 digs; Kaylee Giles - 5 kills, 2 blocks and Viviana Ugalde- 2 digs.
     Cumby’s overall varsity record is 11-18   District: 3-1.
    The Cumby junior varsity defeated Miller Grove 25-11, 25-13.
     Statistics for Cumby, include standouts: Julia Goncalves - 16 points, 2 aces, 3 assists; Victoria Valentine -  6 points; Jacey Weatherbee - 5 points, 3 kills; Mackenzie Fyke - 4 points, 1 ace; Bailey Braddock - 2 points, 1 kill; Alysse Bullock- 2 points, 1 ace, 2 assists and Michaela Comer - 1 kills.
    The Lady Trojans play today at home against Yantis at 4 p.m.

C-P teams
split with LO
    COMO —The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles split recent games against Lone Oak according to information from coach Mark Bates.
    C-P won in recent freshman volleyball action, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23 over Lone Oak. Standouts were: Valeria DeLeon had 5 kills.  Autumn Bennett had 4 aces.  Kailee Williams had 4 kills and 6 aces.  Jennifer Enriques had a kill and several digs.  Gracie Pennington added 3 kills, while Jasmine Boyd had several digs and  Brittany Bearden added 3 aces.  
    In Como-Pickton junior varsity fell in two sets 8-25, 18-25. Erika Flowers had 2 digs;  Jovi Bucio had 5 digs.  Hannah Goodwin had 3 kills, 1 dig.  Honour Cain and Myesha Buford   several digs.  K’Lynn Skidmore had 1 kill, several digs and  Libero was Hollie Lange contributed 10 digs.  
    The Lady Eagles lost 23-25, 21-25 and 18-25. Taeler Schepp had 15 kills, 4 aces, 2 blocks.   Mikeala Jacks had a kill, 2 aces, a block, 11 assists.  Ashley Matthews had 5 assists, 1 ace.  Averi Cain had 8 serves;  Erica Grimaldi had 2 kills, and several digs.  Samantha Mosley  had several digs and passes; Shelby Holder had 13 digs; Taylor Williams had 3 attacks and Rayla Petty played well.
