SSMS teams in Lindale tourney

LINDALE — Sulphur Springs took third place in reeent action at the Lindale Tournament.


    In the first game, it was a close match, but the Lady Cats fell short in three sets against Lindale.
    s,tandouts were: Maddie Millsap, Brooke Harden, and Autumn Tanton who led the team in serving. Faith Hatley, Autumn Tanton, and Danielle Godbolt all had several kills against Lindale. Destiny Godbolt and Autumn Tanton both led the team with blocks, according to coach Josh Neill.
     In the second match, the Lady Cats defeated Bullard in three sets.  Millsap and  Hately both led the team in serving. Tanton,  Hatley, and  Godbolt again led the team in kills. Putting up several blocks during the match was Godbolt, Tanton, and Alli Fain. Tea’Arria Rose, Alli Stephens and Bailey Haggerty played good defense on the back row.
     The Sulphur Springs eighth grade team also competed in the tournament splitting four games.
    The Lady Cats  white team lost to the Lindale B team 23-25, 25-23,27-25. Coach Robbie Horton said that Nsya Dugan had 11 points and 40 good passes. Tahja Gilbert had 7 points, 14 passes; Maggie McGlammery had 34 passes, 7 points; Raleigh Potts led with 5 kills and Jamia Hall had 2 kills.
     The SS eighth grade white  team  defeated Bullard 25-23 and 25-20. McGlammery had 17 Points, 10 passes; Kate Potts 9 assists, 4 points.
