    East Texas Hoop fall leagues at Winnsboro have two more Saturdays to play with two games per Saturday.


    Games are set in Winnsboro, Saturday and Sept. 28.
    They are accepting 5/6 boys and girls, 7/8 boys and girls, JV girls and varsity girls.

Como-Pickton
hosts Leonard;
Cumby plays
at Hawkins
    Football action continues with both county teams still looking for their first win.
    The Como-Pickton Eagles are 0-3 for the year. The squad  lost 60-0 to then state-ranked Mildred to opener the season. Harmony took a 60-0 win over the Eagles. Last week at Winona, Como-Pickton went down by a 62-0 final.
    Como-Pickton hosts Leonard for homecoming. Kickoff at Ron Heflin Field is set for 7:30 p.m.
    Cumby will be on the road, still looking for their first win under new head coach Tom Dracos.
    Cumby plays at Hawkins (3-0) tonight. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. It is homecoming for Hawkins.

Sulphur Bluff
volleyball team
falls to Avery
    The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears lost 25-14, 25-15, 25-15 in recent action against Avery.
    “The girls played hard and have made great improvements since the beginning of the season,” said Cherry Krantz, Sulphur Bluff head volleyball coach. “We are looking forward to district play and expect to be competitive.”
    Sulphur Bluff plays at Union Hill, varsity only, today at 4 p.m.
