WINONA — The hometown Wildcats stayed undefeated for the year, holding Como-Pickton to just 67 yards of total offense here Friday night, taking a 62-0 win.
The Eagles are still winless and have not scored this year, their record drops to 0-3.
“Our guys are playing hard and getting better,” said Conley Bland, Como-Pickton head football coach. “But it might not appear that way when you are playing younger players against experienced upperclassmen.”
Winona scored on the first seven times they touched the ball Friday. The Wildcats rolled up 482 yards in the first half. Ke’Aaron Cobb scored three touchdowns and 221 yards rushing.
Statistics for Como-Pickton reveal 67 total yards for the night, all coming through the rushing game.
Quarterback Cody Fite threw two passes, but fell incomplete.
Christian Hill was the leading running back for the Eagles with 16 carries for 37 yards. Fite had nine attempts for 12 yards. John Collins ran six times for 12 yards. Cole Mitchell and Luis Lopez each had three yards rushing on one carry each.
Winona is 3-0 and will now play at New Diana.
The Eagles are 0-3 for the year, having been outscored 182-0 in three games.
Como-Pickton will host Leonard on Sept. 20 in the annual homecoming game at 7:30 p.m. at Ron Heflin Field.
