Lady Cats lose to RC

ROYSE CITY — The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats struggled early and lost here Tuesday to the Lady Bulldogs, 18-25, 14-25, 25-23 and 20-25.

    Sulphur Springs got into the game during the third contest playing better in all phases of the game. Royse City, then with a 2-1
lead, regrouped and won game four to take the match.
    “The first two sets we struggled putting a ball down and came out very flat. In the third and fourth sets we gave a much better effort overall,” said Michelle Namanny, head volleyball coach.”
     In the match, Katie Barnett had 6 digs and 7 assists. Shakoja Debase had 4 digs and 14 assists. Jessye Castro put down 5 kills and 3 blocks. Destiny Wade had 9 kills and 1 block. Kasey Moore had 5 kills and 1 block. Dillie Collins had 13 digs, while Desi Debase chipped in 9 digs during the four set match.
    Sulphur Springs won 17-25, 29-27. 25-25 in JV action reported coach David Carrillo.
    The freshmen also won 25-16, 25-19. Coach Jerrod Hammack said, “Everyone contributed in a positive way.”
     The Lady Cats take the court again at home Saturday at 11:30 against Mineola.
