loses home match to Van

The Sulphur Springs varsity tennis lost a recent home match 14-5 against Van in fall tennis action.
In boys singles - Ryan Wilson was the only winner from Sulphur Springs. He won 7-5, 3-6, 10-8 over Cody Pendergraft. Other scores reveal - Drew Sant losing to Nick Clark, 6-2, 6-2; Jayce Johnson falling to Trent Harrington, 6-1, 6-3; Johnathan Philo were defeated by Zach Moore, 6-1, 6-0; Jesse Allen lost to Jake Thedford, 6-2, 6-1; Tommy Helffrich was defeated by Cortland Davidson, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) and Harrison Harbin lost in a pro set, 8-2 to Tanner Perry.
Three Lady Cats managed wins in girls singles. Rebecca Maddux won over Davis; Caroline Burns was awarded a win over R. Wilburn and Anne-Marie Winborn took a 6-2,6-0 victory of Jennifer Neely. Other scores include - Kezli Cook losing to Taylor Attaway, 6-3, 6-0; Morgan Sutton falling to Lindsey Stroud, 6-1, 6-2; Abbey Martin was defeated by McKenna Rainwater, 6-0, 6-3 and Magan Smith lost to Mariah Maxfield, 6-3, 6-2.
Van swept boys doubles. Johnson and Philo fell 8-4 to N. Clark/T. Herrington; Wilson and Allen were defeated by Penderraft/Z. Moore, 8-4; the combo of Sant and Helffich lost to Herrington/Perry, 8-2.
Burns and Maddux won their doubles match. The pair of Cook and Smith lost to Attaway and Stroud, 8-3; Sutton and Martin lost to M. Maxfield/M. Rainwater, 8-6.
In mixed doubles - Steven Payne and Winborn lost to Daurs/Fernandez, 8-5.
