SS teams compete in cross country

TYLER — The first action of the cross country season was held here Saturday with Sulphur Springs placing in the Top 10 with both teams.
    The girls team was eighth out of a field of 17 teams. The boys team was 10th of 20 squads.

    “It was a good first meet for us. We ran against some really good teams and individuals,” said Andy Holt, Sulphur Springs head cross country coach. “We know where we are and what we need to do. Several of the kids ran better times than last year, so some of us are in much better shape that last year.”
    The squad will run Saturday, Sept. 14 in the Grand Prairie cross country meet.
