    BIRTHRIGHT — Como-Pickton posted two wins and one loss in recent action in the North Hopkins volleyball tournament taking consolation in the silver bracket.
    The Lady Eagles lost to Rivercrest, 23-25, 25-27 in Saturday play.
    Como-Pickton defeated North Hopkins in three sets, 25-9, 17-25, 25-22.
    The C-P squad downed Yantis by scores of 25-9, 27-25.
    “Our girls competed very well,” said C-P volleyball coach Mark Bates. “Erica Grimaldi had outstanding serves. Taeler Schepp led the team in kills and Mikaela Jacks had the most assists.”

Miller Grove
wins consolation
    BIRTHRIGHT — The Miller Grove Lady Hornets lost to Paris Chisum in recent action by scores of 10-25, 17-25.
    Miller Grove rebounded for wins over Roxton, 25-23, 25-12 and defeated Leonard, 25-15, 19-25, 25-16 in volleyball competition. The win over Leonard gave Miller Grove the championship consolation bracket title at the North Hopkins volleyball tournament.
    “We finished 4-2 for the weekend against some good competition,” said MG coach Gary Billingsley. “Coach Danna Lewis puts on a great tournament.”
    Miller Grove is 12-2 and will play Tuesday at Lone Oak at 5 p.m.
