CUMBY — The Trojans hit the gridiron for the first action of the year, scrimmaging preseason Class 1A, Div. II Tenaha at Van High School at 10 a.m. Saturday.
New head football coach Tom Dracos reported 34 players are currently on the roster for the Trojans’ football teams.

Tenaha went 10-5 last year and were a state finalist. The Tigers had 10 offensive and 10 defensive starters returning.
“We are excited to see what the best in the state looks like and how we match up,” said Dracos. “Tenaha is a great scrimmage for us. We are ready to hit someone else for a change of pace. Our kids are excited about football and becoming a team.”
Dracos added, “We’ve had a great week of practice. Our offense is starting to look like an offense and our defense is running well to the football. We are hoping that we run as well to the ball against the great talent we will face Saturday.”
