program ads available
    Businesses and individuals are urged to call Leigh Ann Peugh at 903-885-8663 at Echo Publishing for ads in the upcoming Sulphur Springs football program.


    Advertisements are available in all sizes and prices. Parents are urged to call now to get ads for students.  Deadline is June 28 to get your ad in the official program used at all home football games.

June basketball
play days set
    All basketball play days with two game guarantees are $25 a game to enter.
    You must call Bart at 903-434-3412 or text by 6 p.m. on the Wednesday of the play day to make the schedule.
    Games schedules include - June 22, Bullard, 5-6, through varsity, varsity girls.
    June 21-22, Fairfield Tournament, 5-6, through varsity boys and girls, four game guarantee, $225.
    June 28-29, Grand Saline Tournament, $225 for four game guarantee, all divisions through varsity.

Tourney opens here Friday
 Coleman Park will host a District Coach Pitch Tournament Friday through Monday for players ages 7-8 according to officials.
    Seven teams will be included in the tournament with the Americans and Nationals representing Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County.
    Games will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and continue through the weekend.
    The championship game in the tournament will be played Monday.

Softball camp underway'

David Carrillo, Lady Cats head softball coach is holding softball camp in the multi-purpose building at Sulphur Springs High School.  Carrillo said the camp will include hitting drills Wednesday morning in the indoor facility. Weather permitting, the final day of the camp Thursday, will be at the softball diamond. Younger students are in the camp 8-9:30 a.m. with campers in grades 6-9 practicing skills 10 a.m. until noon. Carrillo said he was pleased with the turnout. He said the campers have been very energetic and eager to learn. Eric Buck and Michelle Nammany also assisted in the camp.


Sweetees finals tonight

The Hopkins County Americans play Franklin County at 6 p.m. in the semi-finals of the state Dixie Sweetees tournament in Mount Vernon.

The winner of the game will take on Bullard at 7:30 p.m. for the state Sweetees title.

Games are played at the new Mount Vernon complex which is located on County Road 1030 (Airport Road) which is off Highway 37 in Mount Vernon.
